| Description |
English: The punishment island is the smallest island out of the 29 islands on lake Bunyonyi. It is where the girls who got pregnant before their marriage were taken and left their to either be taken by the fishermen who could not afford to pay the dowry or even left to starve to death. Some of the ladies drowned themselves as they tried to swim to the nearby islands. But this tradition was stopped in 1940
