This is a documentation subpage for Template:Archives.
It contains usage information, categories and other content that is not part of the original template page.

Usage

This template displays a floating box to the right of the archive links, in which to insert the archive links. It should be placed at the top of the page.

A search function is available on all subpages of the main talk page. It can also be placed on archived talk pages for navigation (in which case, do not forget to hard-code the links so that the code works).

Parameters

1 or content : Text below the search box, usually used to list archive pages.
name : The search is carried out on the page with that “name” and on its subpages.
title : Text above the search box.
