Request for Luganda wikipedia administrator

Hello, I'm Ssegawa a native luganda speaker and member of wikimedia community user group Uganda. I am professional librarian that is passionate about free and quality information and I have been editing wikipedia both English and Luganda and I am one of the leading contributors. I therefore seek rights as an administrator lg.wikipedia.org to be able to ensure quality of the content on the luganda wikipedia and solve some gramatical errors evident on the interface. Request for Adminship on Luganda Wikipedia

Dear Wikimedians,

My name is Ssemanda Willy (User: Ssemmanda will). I am the former Project Lead of Luganda Wikipedia (2022–2025) and currently serve as Community Manager of the Wikimedia Community User Group Uganda. I respectfully submit my request for Adminship on our Luganda Wikipedia.

My motivation for seeking adminship is to: Maintain and improve the quality of Luganda Wikipedia articles, support the community by handling administrative tasks such as page protection, deletion, and combating vandalism, encourage new contributors by providing guidance and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment and strengthen Luganda Wikipedia as part of our broader mission to preserve and promote Ugandan languages online.

I believe my experience in leadership, advocacy, editing, and training equips me to serve effectively as an administrator. I am committed to transparency, collaboration, and supporting the growth of Luganda Wikipedia.

It’s important for Luganda Wikipedia to have an administrator who truly understands the language both in its spoken and written forms to effectively guide and manage this Language Wikipedia and Willy was a Luganda project lead for several years. Having William as a local admin for Luganda Wikipedia will be of great importance to the wiki in management of the different inconsistencies and challenges that we face as editors of Luganda Wikipedia especially with the review of the articles that are published on the wiki. He is a technical person in Luganda as a language and he is an experienced editor with profound knowledge on the Dos and Don'ts on editing Wikipedia which places him in a better position for the role.

Request for community approval: Updating the Cat-a-lot gadget

Hello everyone, I am working on improving the Cat-a-lot gadget to make it more useful for all editors. User:Neriah originally installed this gadget on our wiki, but it only works inside categories. I would like to update it so that it works properly on search results pages and regular articles, not only on category pages. For this global interface editor to help us and make it work better, It requires the approval from you colleagues.
